The Sandbox Metaverse Launches Cinerama Virtual Neighborhood

The Sandbox metaverse is hoping to reignite interest in the virtual world with the launch of a new virtual neighborhood called Cinerama.

Users can sign up for Cinerama to buy digital properties and transform them into opportunities for collaboration, idea-sharing, and immersive, interactive entertainment based on movies.

There are currently over 400 digital land plots available in Cinerama, with 70% of over 165,000 LAND NFTs already sold on the platform.

The new area will feature famous American films such as The Walking Dead, Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders, and Cheech and Chong, with partnerships with production companies like Skydance and Lionsgate.

Price Impact on The Sandbox’s Native Token (SAND)

Despite the exciting news, the price of The Sandbox’s native token (SAND) showed virtually no reaction. In the past 24 hours, the token only increased by 0.93% to $0.417, but trading volumes in 24 hours saw a sharp increase of 125.49%, reaching $224 million.

Changes in Binance NFT Marketplace Support for The Sandbox

In September, the Binance NFT Marketplace stopped supporting non-fungible tokens on the Polygon network and accepting staking The Sandbox, requiring users to withdraw corresponding assets. Users can no longer bid LAND NFTs on Polygon to earn rewards and also cannot purchase or list Polygon NFTs on the platform, with affected listings being canceled and assets returned to users’ accounts.
