The Helium Foundation Expands Access through HNT Token Listing on SwissBorg
The Helium Foundation, a trade association dedicated to promoting decentralized wireless access, has recently announced that its HNT token will be listed on SwissBorg, a prominent cryptocurrency platform in Europe. This development, which was announced on November 2, 2023, represents an important milestone in enhancing the accessibility and growth of the Helium Network.
SwissBorg, established in 2017, has established itself as a trusted platform for over 700,000 verified users to trade digital assets, access yield products, and participate in early investment deals. On the other hand, the Helium Foundation is a not-for-profit organization committed to improving secure and cost-effective wireless coverage worldwide. It serves as the steward of the Helium Network, the largest decentralized wireless network globally.
Founded in 2019, the Helium Network has been on a mission to provide a decentralized, secure, and open-source wireless network. With hundreds of thousands of hotspots, the network is extensively used across various sectors, including businesses, governments, and municipalities around the world. By integrating with SwissBorg, the network will be able to reach SwissBorg’s user base of over 700,000 individuals, expanding its global presence.
The collaboration between SwissBorg and Helium is based on a shared vision of decentralization and accessibility. Anthony Lesoismier, the Chief Strategy Officer and Co-founder of SwissBorg, emphasized this alignment in values as a key factor for the token listing. He also highlighted the integration of Orca and Phoenix DEXs into the SwissBorg Smart Engine, which enables users to seamlessly transition from off to on-chain operations. The listing of the HNT token reinforces the integration, facilitating real-world connections by merging off and on-chain activities.
SwissBorg aims to democratize wealth management and make crypto asset management accessible to all, which aligns with the mission of Helium. The HNT token listing on SwissBorg’s platform, as stated by Abhay Kumar, the CEO of the Helium Foundation, not only expands the Helium Network’s user base but also strengthens its global presence. Recent collaborations of the network include partnerships with Helotics, creating bear-proof waste containers in Hrebienok National Park, and Seeed Studios, which designed a compact LoRaWAN SenseCAP T1000 Tracker equipped with GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi to secure important assets.
